New lesson

Well, today my boss ordered pizzas for everybody at lunch. But in stead of ordering anything else, she ordered only pepperoni pizzas. We have a vegetarian and person who is a muslim. I believe she made a honest mistake, but this is cultural insensitivity. They seem not to care since they said this happens all the time. I am more aware of and more sensitive about this kind of situation after taking the class.

  1. My company has made that mistake as well. I find it an odd one to make because the town where I grew up has its share of diversity (or oddities...it's Davis, so it could go either way), so a vegetarian option is default. A vegan option is almost default, even.

  2. I think people rush too much. If they just took a second to think things through they'd realize that even the smallest mistake can have a huge impact.

  3. I guess mistakes do happen, right. In the thick of things, we may gloss over important details. To err is human, after all. But, our resilience is how quickly we can bounce back and rectify the issue!

Where is the part 2 of the story Dai ?
